Go to the Portfolio tab, tap on the stock that you want to delete to show its details, then tap on the garbage can icon at the top-right to delete the stock. If you just want to 'buy' or 'sell' some of the shares, tap on 'Number of Shares' to set it to the new number of shares.
For our latest release, v2.0.1 (July 2014) to delete a stock, select the stock to show the stock details. At the top-right tap 'Buy Sell', then tap 'Sell' and 'Sell All'. This will remove the stock from your portfolio and add the proceeds to your portfolio cash balance. I hope you find this more natural than just deleting a stock.
If you email me the symbols to support using the 'Send us mail' link at the bottom of the page I will investigate. Possibly a discontinued symbol is left in your portfolio.
I can't seem to be able to delete a stock after wasted almost half an hour. I treid what was suggested above, but nothing works. It seems like every time there's an update version, the quality goes down and frustration level goes up…
Sorry to hear you are having a problem. Please try the following to resolve your issue:
* Check the version of your app (Settings tab and tap on 'About Dividend Predictor') and make sure you have v2.0.3. The previous version did have an issue on some devices deleting stocks.
* Refresh your portfolio by tapping the refresh button at the top-left of the Portfolio or Summary tabs. If you share your portfolio across multiple devices it only needs to be modified on one device then refreshed on the others to get the changes.
* Restart the app if it is possibly in a bad state: Double tap on the home button then swipe up on the image of DivPred, then restart the app.
If none of these resolve your problem then please email us from the 'Send Us Mail' link at the bottom of the page with the symbol of the stock you are trying to delete and I can investigate further. Let me know how it goes.
I have ver 2.0.8 and I have read and tried all of the solutions on the forum and nothing helps. I have no trashcan icon and no home button.
Is there some way I can reinstall the current version or delete this one and go back to the manual version? The buy sell keep track of cash,, etc. version sucks.
To delete a stock, go to the Portfolio tab, tap on the stock to show the stock details, then tap on 'Buy Sell' at the top-right. Now tap the 'Sell' button and select the option to sell 'All' and 'Done'. Just like your real account when you sell all of the shares the stock is removed from your portfolio.
You can once again change the number of shares by tapping on 'Change Values' on the stock details page, which is handy for updating DRIP amounts without going through the buy/sell page. Unfortunately setting the number of shares to zero doesn't remove the stock from your portfolio. I have entered an issue for this.
The trash can is from an older version of the app so is no longer present, and the home button is the physical button at the bottom centre of your device. I don't recommend installing an older version of the app due to incompatabilities and bug fixes.
Sorry that you don't like the Cash feature. For many people, including myself, cash is an important part of their portfolios to be tracked.
