I really liked this program when I first started using it, as I was able to just plug in the number of shares I own. Like many dividend share holders, I have DRIPS and so I am constantly adding to the shares I own. Now with the current updated version I have to post every purchase and that is an absolute pain. There should be a way to just enter/update the total shares with out having to do a bunch of mental masterbation to update my share balances.

Update number of shares
Sorry to hear the 'Buy Sell' to change holdings is awkward for you. We will be adding back the previous way of editing the number of shares shortly. Our next major feature will be to directly support DRIP, but that will take a bit longer.
It's been 10 months...
Since you said "shortly". When can we expect the ability to directly change the number of shares we own? You know what would be a killer feature, the abilily to export/import portfolios via a CSV file! That is the feature I would really love!
Update number of shares
Hi Larry,
We've found it difficult so far this year to free up resources for more feature work on DivPred, however we do now have an upcoming opportunity to do another rev! I like your suggestion for CSV download and will add it to our list for the next release. Thanks for your patience.

Updating shares
Without the easy ability to update shares this program usefulness becomes very limited.

DRIPS
Is there a timeline for when DRIPS and/or csv support will be incorporated?
DRIPS
Hi gfleary,
Unfortunately I am unable to commit to a date at this point. We do want DRIP for our own portfolio though, so I am very interested to add this feature.

Update number of shares
Our recent release 2.0.7 restores the ability to directly change the number of shares without going through the Buy | Sell dialog, along with a number of compatability improvements for iOS9. Sorry that this release took so long for those who really wanted this feature.

DRIP and Cost basis
Updating the share count is indeed "easy" but will DRIP ever be automated?
Also, when I update the "quantity" after a DRIP does the basis also update, or must I manually adjust that also?
Thanks, the app was worth the $10 for me but like others I would love to see ongoing features and enhancements.
DRIP and Cost basis
Hi Edwin,
Updating the number of shares only does not change the average cost basis. If you change the number of shares through the Buy / Sell dialog then the cost basis is updated using the price in that dialog.
DRIP is definitely our most requested feature. Our most recent release in March added some significant new user requested features and we intend on adding DRIP along with other requested additions in future releases. I know that keepin your DRIP additions up to date is a real pain.
